What primary services do you offer?

Kristen Oldfield Design offers a range of services that can be tailored to fit each clients' specific needs. Whether it be new construction or a remodel, one room or a whole house, Kristen's skills and talents have you covered!

Every design collaboration begins with a discovery phone call where we gather basic details about your project. We then schedule you for a design consultation. During this in-home consultation, the project is defined and Kristen also gains a deeper understanding of her clients' tastes and preferences. This service addresses a specific project the client has in mind and typically lasts for 1 to 1.5 hours. Afterwards, clients can choose to hire Kristen for a pre-set hourly fee.

Since the pandemic, Kristen has also extended her practice into e-design or "virtual" design services. This service uses digital platforms and communication tools and the entire design process is conducted online through video calls, emails, or messaging platforms.

Kristen is able to create mood boards, 2D and 3D renderings. Mood boards showcase color schemes, furniture and décor selections, and sample images to covey the intended style and aesthetic. When Kristen is asked to develop a new floor plan or layout to optimize the functionality and flow of the space, 2D/3D renderings allow her clients to better visualize the proposed design and make informed decisions about the space.

Kristen is also able to make product and material recommendations that align with the design concept discussed in the design consultation. This may include furniture, lighting fixtures, hardware, accessories, paint colors, and other décor items. Links to online stores or specific products details are often provided for easy purchasing.

How can an interior designer help me maximize my space and create functional layouts?

Kristen has expertise in analyzing the available space and creating efficient floor plans. She considers the flow of traffic, the purpose of each area, and the placement of furniture and fixtures to optimize the functionality of the space.

Can you work with existing furniture and belongings, or do I need to start from scratch?

Kristen is able to reuse or re-purpose pieces you already own. She'll take inventory of the furnishings and art in your collection and factor these items into her new design plan. Then, she'll supplement the design with new furniture and accessories in order to create a home with truly reflects you and your family.

What if I want to do most of the work and just need an overall plan?

Kristen is happy to help with a master plan for your project.  After defining the project at a design consultation, Kristen can create a plan for you in the form of a mood board, 2D or 3D rendering.

Can you provide 3d visualizations of the design concept?

Yes! Kristen has the ability to create a 2D or 3D visualization to allow her clients to better visualize the proposed design and make informed decisions about the space.
